Oh wow does this bring back memories...how quickly I forget about those days when the buddy-system was even part of showering.
:)

With our youngest, we ended up putting a gate on her doorway (and we're not at all over-the-top-baby-safety-proofers)...but just for my sanity, I needed one safe place I could put her and know another kiddo or the dog wouldn't accidentally hurt her...to just know she was safe if I needed to be out of the room for some reason.

I've so far managed this problem (my baby is 7 weeks and my firstborn is 2 1/4) by leaving toddler downstairs watching favourite tv program and taking baby up to the crib upstairs, or by showering when my husband or other relative is here!
And no, i haven't shaved my legs in I don't know how long!

I remember first time around (ie with baby number one only) taking sophia in her bouncy chair into the bathroom with me and peeking round the curtain to wave at her about every thirty seconds!

Good advice! When my son was a baby, I took baths instead of showers for the same reason, so that he could see me--we had frosted sliding glass doors on the shower at the time. When he also needed a bath, I would undress him except for diaper before putting him in the bouncy seat with a blanket over him, soak myself in hot water and wash, and then after the water had cooled put him in my lap and wash him. It worked much better than the baby bathtub, which he hated for some reason.

Your title alone captivated me! I used to do this all the time when my munchkin was a baby. I couldn't leave him alone for a minute without him screaming, so I took "that" approach. I sat him on the same kind of bouncy seat you have there and I showered while keeping my eye on him. It worked great for the both of us. Thank you for sharing this! I feel so normal now:-) I also love your drawing, too cute.

That is hilarious! Luckily, my newest addition could care less if she's alone or in a roomful of people. My my first...I had her in a bouncy seat and would poke my head out of the shower every time she cried. There was always a huge puddle on the floor post shower. I needed this tip!
