Happy Friday!

I love slow, quiet mornings that involve my coffee and a cinnamon roll. They are my favorite. Using my Dean & Deluca coffee mug makes me think of the trip I took during college to visit my sister in NYC. I bought it the morning I stood outside The Today Show.

We've been practicing reading and writing three-letter words with Jonah. He's working so hard! He wrote BED all by himself without my help. (I said the word first, and then he wrote the sounds that he heard.) He was so proud he wanted me to take a picture to show Daddy after work.

Asher found the easel paper and started unrolling it toilet paper style. He then proceeded to eat the chalk that I had "hidden" from him. He is already so mischievous. He just looks at me and cackles when he knows he's into something.

Then he climbed in the fireplace...

Every single time I put ferns on my front porch I end up in a fight with the birds about where they should and should not build their nest. This year, the bird won. I'm so intrigued with the difference in the eggs. One is speckled and the other is not. The speckled egg is also larger. The problem with bird nests in my ferns is that I don't want my fern to die, so I water it. I am hoping the momma bird doesn't abandon them due to my watering habit because then I'll have to Google things.

your little guy is such a cute stinker!!!!! as far as your eggs - I think it is a cow bird. they are known to drop their eggs in other nests.

I'm going to have to research this! I've never heard about that! I haven't seen the mama bird around. I really hope she hasn't abandoned her nest...I would be faced with a moral dilemma.

Cinnamon roll looks so tasty!! woohooo Jonah!! I meet Kristi Collins this weekend and she had nothing but sweet things to say about Jonah and how cute he looked dressed up as Samuel L. Collins! Asher sounds like a very fun handful.. I had one of those too ;-)

As far as the eggs I can't wait to hear about it.. I had just read something earlier today about a certain type of bird laying their eggs in other nests and leaving them for the other mother to raise. I think they are refereed to as parasite birds.

How fun that you met Kristi and talked about my blog! I'm going to have to research this parasite bird business. I'm intrigued. Wonder if the momma bird noticed another egg and abandoned the nest? I haven't seen her back.

We have the same problem with birds building nests on our porch. Ours builds it up in the corner of our brick right above the door. Uh yea, not leaving a real pleasant welcome for any visitors. Great pictures & I love the start my mornings the same way. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Yeah, protective birds dive-bombing us on the front porch is not fun.
