When it is cold there's nothing like a big bowl of homemade chili in the slow cooker. Pair it with a sprinkle of shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and corn chips or crackers and you've got a fantastic tasting dinner. No matter what you put on top of your chili, you really can't go wrong with this Crockpot Chili recipe. It's hearty and filling with a great taste. We always make a big batch and have plenty of leftovers.
This chili isn't anything fancy. I just add everything to the crockpot and let it cook all day long. It's super easy to make which is perfect for busy days when you won't be able to spend much time in the kitchen. When I was working outside of the home, this was on our regular dinner rotation. I've also made this slow cooker chili for a crowd. It's perfect for when the guys come over to watch football or for a family get together. Set up a chili bar with lots of topping options and let the crowd go to town building their perfect bowl of chili.
Some of our favorite ways to top chili include cheese, sour cream, onions, corn chips or crackers. There are lots more ways to top your chili for the adventurous eaters among us. And then there are chili dogs, of course. My son could eat his weight in chili dogs if I let him.
