Allow me to be honest for a moment…

The financial part of adoption has me completely overwhelmed. It’s a crazy-big number with lots of zeroes.  And yet, I am confident that God will provide with His holy calling.

But sometimes, deep down in my soul, I question where all of those zeroes are going to come from.

And on those days, God shows up in a BIG way.

Like today, when I found a check in the mail…with zeroes.

Overwhelmed. Absolutely overwhelmed by people being obedient to God’s calling to help us in our adoption calling.

Adoption Update: We turned in a HUGE stack of papers last week for our Home Study. They actually sat on the counter for almost a month as we prayed and worried over funds. I finally felt like the Lord was waiting for us to be obedient and take another step of faith by turning in our paperwork. We turned in our paperwork 12-28-2010. Reference letters were sent out the next day from our agency. Today we received a wonderful gift in our mailbox to go toward our Home Study fees. (Which is wonderful because after we finish our Home Study, we are free to apply for grants!) Our first Home Study interview is next week. Say a prayer for us!

So awesome to see the progress you guys are making! And to see the way God is directing each step and providing along the way! Keep trusting! This is most definitely a HOLY calling and He will perfect it in His time!! :) {{hugs}}

Wow…you guys sound like you are pretty close to where we are. We, too, worry about where all those zeroes will come from deep down even though there is this little mustard seed of faith telling me that God WILL provide! In the past, we always thought about adoption but then would just push it aside because of the financial part…it just always seemed completely out of reach. No more. God has been so faithful and has shown us that He will provide so far with giving us opportunity through friends and family being obedient in their giving by giving us anything and everything to sell and by allowing us to put away every spare penny. Don’t get me wrong…we have a lonnnnnng way to go BUT…he’s given us that mustard seed that WILL cover our home study fee plus a little! So, like you said, we are going to continue with the next step and rely on Him to continue to provide the way. And, He is doing that for you, too!! Our home visit to begin our home study is next Friday, Jan. 14th and we continue to work on our stack of papers. We’re gettin’ there!! Will continue to keep you in our prayers and keep that little mustard seed of faith…God will continue to water it so that it grows!! Much Love!

Both times we adopted we were not sure where the money was going to come from, but we believed and each time it all fell into place. Blessing to you and your family and you must have been so excited to see the check in the mail! We will keep you in our prayers. Good luck on your home study….they are going to love your family!

I have two internationally adopted children. It is a long and exhausting progress…but it worth it. Adoption is a beautiful way to add to a family and you can only do it by following your heart. Your child is where you are drawn to….there is a reason we make our decision to pursue any international or domestic adoption. And whatever that reason is, it is the right one!
