Hi! I'm Sara and Happy Brown House is my little corner of the web. It's the place where my passions and life collide.

When I left my teaching job to be a stay-at-mom, I found that I needed an outlet. A way to share all of these ideas swirling around in my head. A place to keep teaching, even though I'm not in a traditional classroom anymore. A place to bottle up family memories because I just can't keep up with a traditional scrapbook, no matter how hard I try. And most importantly, a place to get some adult conversation from the comfort of my jammies, because life with two young boys just doesn't always allow me a chance to get out of the house. {Can I get an Amen?} That's how the blog was born. I found I could do all of that with a few pecks on my keyboard. Somehow you found me...and I found my voice again.

I'm crafty, so I craft.

I'm a mom, so I talk kids.

I homeschool, so I talk about homeschooling.

I'm a home manager, so I cook, clean, and all of that grown-up stuff...except for those kid chores. I'm such a mean mom, you know.

While I try to post daily, I take my roles as wife and mom very seriously. The rule around our house is "Babies Before Blogging" and I honor it wholeheartedly. So, if you don't hear from me for a few days, well, just know I'm living life first, so I can write about it later. I've found from experience that I enjoy blogging more and offer you quality material when I keep these priorities in check.

I hope you'll come on in and put up your feet...just don't trip over the toys on your way to the couch.
