Mommy & Me: Alphabet Match-up

Sharing is caring!

Welcome to Mommy & Me Monday! Today is the first link-up and I'm so excited to see everyone's ideas! Mommy & Me is to showcase all of the fantastic things you are doing to help your little one prepare for school. Almost anything goes!

Here is our activity:

Alphabet Match-up

I used some ABC flashcards and foam bathtub letters (both found at the Dollar Tree). If you don't have any flashcards, you could always make your own with index cards. The goal was for Jonah to match the letters. During the activity, I made sure to say the names of the letters. Jonah got in the habit of saying "A is for apple, B is for Barn, etc..." I used this as a teaching moment for letter sounds.

This was an easy activity to pull together and Jonah loved it. I stored the pieces in a gallon plastic zip top bag and placed it in our learning activities cabinet so it is ready to play over and over.

Ok, now it's your turn to share!
A few link-up guidelines:
~Please link to your posts Permalink, not your blog's url. To find the permalink of your post, click on the title of your post. This will make the url point to your specific post.
~If you do not link to your specific post, your link will be deleted. Sorry, but we don't want to search for your activities when visiting your blog. I'm just sayin'.
~Try not to post and run. The whole point to a party is to mingle, comment, and make new friends. Comments make people smile and feel all happy inside. Who knows, you may just find your new favorite blog this way.
~Place the button in your post. This helps my blog traffic and yours. Thanks!

Sara, thanks for hosting! It's so helpful to glean creative ideas from other moms! I love your idea of matching the foam letters to flash cards.
