Tea Party with a Twist!

by Sara McClure on March 23, 2010

This Saturday the Women’s Ministry at our church had a tea. The table hosts were encouraged to choose a scripture theme for their table. I chose to highlight the gift of salvation and the “birth” of a new life in Christ. So I chose to take my table in a fun, lively, and unexpected direction….a birthday celebration!

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.~James 1:17-19

Some of my special unexpected touches:
-I used curtain ring clips for napkin rings and clipped a Bible verse to it.
-Simple craft pom-poms were my “confetti”
-The Bible verse at each place setting was Matthew 5:15-17 and discusses light. I placed a candle on the scripture card.

It was so much fun! Stay tuned for pictures of the rest of the tables!

What a fun table! And I love the pom pon confetti- genius!
I decorated a table for a ladies' tea at Christmas time, but it was not nearly as colorful! Thanks for the idea! I found you via Alicia Stunkel- a friend of mine for a long time… I hope we can be friends, too :)
Blessings on your day!
