I’ve already talked about how we’ve been teaching Jonah to pray and some of the sweet moments I’ve witnessed between Jonah and the Father. Today I witnessed another sweet moment, and realized that he really is soaking it all in….

As I was preparing Jonah’s plate for lunch, Jonah climbed into a chair at the table. He softly began to sing, “God our Father, God our Father,
Once again, Once again,
We bow our heads and thank you, bow our heads and thank you,
Amen, Amen”

This is the song Jonah sings at Parent’s Day Out before eating lunch. We’ve adopted it as one of our prayers at home to help Jonah learn it and be able to participate at Parent’s Day Out. Today was the first time Jonah has sang the song by himself without prompting. It fills my heart with joy to know that our example is definitely having an impact. I’m not going to kid myself, I know he doesn’t have much of a concept of all things spiritual at age 2, but the seeds are being sown…and that gives me great joy as a mother.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
~Proverbs 22:6
